Blue Faced Leicester is known for being fine, silky, and lustrous. The fiber holds up to well to intense wear while still being next to skin soft, which makes it a good candidate for sock yarns. The combing process removes shorter fibers leaving fibers with an impressive staple length of 6 inches. Fiber is next to skin soft at 25 microns, drafts smoothly, and suitable for spinning and felting.
I hand dye the fiber using the lowest temperatures required to set the dye and handle the fiber as little as possible to prevent felting and preserve softness. This braid has been dyed in vibrant blues, deep brown, and has accents of bright yellow.
Because computer monitors vary, you may see colors as slightly different as they are in real life. I try to take pictures that accurately represent the colors of the product. Please message me if you have any questions about the colors, or anything else.
