Corriedale is a next to skin soft wool that is easy to spin. This wool likes to fluff up after spinning, making it a wonderful candidate for a woolen spun yarn. The combing process removes shorter fibers leaving fibers with a staple length of 5 inches. Fiber is very soft at 28 microns, drafts smoothly, and suitable for spinning and felting.
I hand dye the fiber using the lowest temperatures required to set the dye and handle the fiber as little as possible to prevent felting and preserve softness. This braid has been dyed in a gradient of deep red, rich dusty rose purple, into a light pink and finally a chocolately brown. The fiber can be spun across the top to create a gradiant yard with some color varience, or carded or combed in sections to create smoother color transitions. The braid could also be split to be spun with a fractal pattern.
Because computer monitors vary, you may see colors as slightly different as they are in real life. I try to take pictures that accurately represent the colors of the product. Please message me if you have any questions about the colors, or anything else.
Fiber is processed and stored in a smoke free, pet friendly environment.
